Hail Damage

What Is Considered Wind Damage Under a Homeowners Policy?

Hail is a type of precipitation, or water in the atmosphere. Hail is formed when drops of water freeze together in the cold upper regions of thunderstorm clouds. These chunks of ice are called hailstones and range from 1/4 inch to as big as 4 & 1/2 inches. Frozen rain falls as water and freezes as it nears the ground. Ranging from speeds low as 9mph and up to speeds as fast as 72 mph hail causes over 1 billion dollars worth of damage to properties each year.
